5 Must Attend Music Events in London this Autumn

Looking for something fun to do in London this autumn? If you are a fan of live music, then the capital city is the place to be. If you want to see an energetic live performance and have a good time, these five music events are definitely worth checking out in the next few weeks.

1. Flying Lotus – November 7 – April 17

The best live music events are the ones that can offer you with a new experience. You don’t want to just be sitting on a seat listening to someone play the piano for two hours. If you want to experience something unique and amazing, then Flying Lotus is a must-see gig.

This Californian hip-hop, jazz and R&B artist is always staging mind-blowing live shows, which feature almost hypnotic visuals. Flying Lotus, or FlyLo, is returning to London to perform at the Roundhouse at the start of November. He’ll also perform in April, so you’ll have plenty of time to see him.

2. Jungle – October 30

Jungle is a bit of a new name in the public’s conscience, as they only hit it big at the end of last year. This London duo is attracting a lot of interest right now and they have been selling out shows everywhere.

Their style is very groovy with a bit of disco-vibe to it and Jungle has had a great success with their music videos, which have become instant viral hits. This is no wonder, as you can see anything from a six-year-old breakdancer to a huge dance crew at these amazing videos. Jungle is performing at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire at the end of October.

3. Bluesfest – October 26 – 31

If you are a fan of blues music or you just want to immerse yourself into a new music genre, then the Bluesfest is definitely worth checking out at the end of October. You can listen to anything from blues, jazz, soul, rhythm and blues and even gospel music at the festival and the line-up is impressive mix of big names and new discoveries. Daytime Storytellers, Max Weinberg and Sheryl Crow are acts you don’t want to miss out this year. What make’s the festival even more exciting is its location, which is the magnificent Royal Albert Hall.

4. Bryan Adams – November 22

Perhaps you are just looking for a fun and classic music event at the capital city. In that case, Bryan Adams is taking centre stage at the O2 Arena at the end of November. This classic pop/rock singer is perfect for a night out and you’ll surely be singing along to his most popular hits. Bryan Adams is always a good performer who will get the crowd going.

5. La Roux – November 12

Finally, you should check out La Roux at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in November. Although its only singer Elly Jackson this time, but La Roux still has the right kind of vibe to get you going. La Roux always organises a great show that you’ll remember for a long time. You’ll probably hear a lovely mixture of old hits and songs from the new album.

There are plenty of things going on in London this autumn, so be sure to check out websites like TimeOut and In Reach, if you are into more underground music. And if the music events inspire you, you can even try out picking up an instrument yourself and learn to play the guitar! Music is a perfect way to brighten up the cold autumn nights.
